laGRETA…
serves up cinematic blues-pop songs without much fuss but with talent. She doesn’t have a blatant show to offer, neither the genre innovation of the century nor dizzying virtuosity. Instead, she captivates with radical honesty, brings power and socially critical topics to the stage and advocates the removal of taboos surrounding mental illness. With a full voice, piano and acoustic guitar, she stages the lyrics of her songs.

…Goes Band
The band around laGRETA paints the metaphorical to philosophical images of the lyrics with powerful sound colors. They formed at the beginning of 2023 and their first gig together was produced as a live album. The arrangements with drums, bass and electric guitar lend the songs an energetic veneer of blues, rock, pop and even skar.
laGRETA’s songs undoubtedly fulfill the adjectives that are often associated with singer/songwriters: Melancholic, inspiring, touching, authentic – and add to these a clear stance against discrimination. Just like most other singer/songwriters, laGRETA claims to give profound insights into her soul with her songs and to offer her listeners an intimate concert experience. Since laGRETA finds it easier to write when she is not feeling so well, most of her songs are rather sombre.
Faint, sadness, fear, shame and anger are often the driving emotional force in laGRETA’s songwriting processes. But even dorks and idiots who are good in bed get their own song dedicated by laGRETA and a musical homage to the bad girl in her is a must at concerts. Despite all the melancholy, laGRETA is a sly old dog and elicits a smile from many an audience member. It should also be said that with songs like the last-mentioned, especially in a band setting, sitting and swaying along is no longer a satisfactory listening posture.
All in all laGRETA’s concerts are basically like life itself: Sometimes it’s really hard, but sometimes you just feel like a smoking butterfly.
